The Living Quarters
Not only do you get an up-and-running business with an excellent clientele and a great reputation in our local community, you get to live on-site in this beautiful nature-filled atmosphere. Another huge benefit that adds up to some serious dollars is that your utilities, paper products, cleaning products, and laundry products are paid for by the business, and used by you for the purpose of running your business. The primary living quarters is the spacious 966-square-foot, east half of the duplex. There is a large kitchen [9 x 15] with tons of counter space and cupboards galore. Fridge [brand new in 2008], electric range and dishwasher are included. New vinyl flooring was installed in 2007. Two bedrooms [master – 12' x 14.5, guest – 10 x 11.5], one bathroom [8 x 7] with bathtub/shower. The amazing great room [15.5 x 25] boasts a fireplace and a wood-burning stove to keep you warm and toasty on winter nights [as well as electric heat throughout the house]. The office where you welcome your guests and check them in is conveniently located right off of the great room. There is a private entrance into the home from the kitchen, as well as the inner door of the office. Both the kitchen and the outer door of the office open onto the lovely little patio. There is a daphne bush at the foot of the four stairs that lead into the office; a huge lavaterra bush that is almost a wall of lavender blooms in the summer, herbs including lavender and rosemary and all sorts of pretty little flowers, shrubs and hanging plants adorn the patio. The patio is primarily for the enjoyment of the owners and a pleasant place for guests to wait should you have a number of guests arrive at the same time. We do have a free courtesy phone for local calls available on the patio. The spacious and user-friendly laundry room is right off of the patio. Here you have two washers and two dryers, storage for all linens and cleaning products for the cottages, a large freezer for your use as well as the guests, and a large table for folding laundry. The west half of the duplex is a spacious 814-square-foot one bedroom/one bath unit where Harriet used to live. She moved off-site a little over a year ago. This space was, and again now is, a rental unit called “The Apartment”. It can remain just that, or a mother-in-law unit, a possible community meeting space for retreats, OR, if you were to go into business with family or friends; their home. West and slightly north of the duplex is a three-bay garage. The first bay is the shop, complete with workbenches and an enormous amount of space for tinkering on little or big projects. The next two bays easily fit a vehicle in each and still have much space available for storage of equipment, such as mowers and larger tools. An older, on its very last legs, riding mower and a MUCH newer in great condition upright gas mower are included with the sale. The recycling center is in the farthest west bay. There is a charming little greenhouse that was built onto the end of the garages if you have a green thumb.
