The Property

There are just over three acres of lush, green, quiet, peaceful property. The land is one block west of the main road in Ocean Park, so there is no road noise. We have a slough that runs through the property right as you enter. Our bridge crosses over it. There are regular wildlife sightings throughout the year, such as great blue herons, otters, ducks and the rare, but wonderful, eagle sightings. We also have regular deer visits on the property, and it’s always extra special when the babies with their white spots come through with their Mamas. The gravel footpath extending west from our property is roughly the equivalent of two city blocks: up a hill through the forest, down the hill, over the dunes, and there is the beach. We have only two neighbors who have an easement through our property. They are not year-round neighbors, and both couples are extremely nice and we continue to enjoy a great relationship with them. So that, besides community residents, is the only car traffic that comes through The Cove. The property is abundant in greenery: tall pines surrounding the cottages; a magnificent birch in the center lawn area along with many other bushes and trees; azalea, wild rose, fuchsia, bamboo, rhododendrons, camellia, quince, hydrangea and more, mature plantings weaving a rich tapestry into the canvas of The Cove. Driving onto the property, with the motor court aspect, and the unspoiled elemental beauty of the land, feels like a step back in time to where things were a little simpler. I lived full-time on the land for 12 years and it was one of the greatest blessings in my life.
